The Position
As the Scientific Vice President of Obesity Research, you will:
• Play a key role in representing Diabetes, Obesity, and MASH Global Research (DOMGR) on key Novo Nordisk human-centric E2E strategy and execution.
• Drive innovation in obesity and cardiometabolic disease via a human integrated evidence generation approach.
• Ensure effective use of human data (genetics, multiomics, cohort datasets) to drive target selection and portfolio projects.
• Challenge and assure the scientific rigor and quality of projects in the early and late portfolio.
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners to identify and mitigate scientific gaps.
• Identify and champion external collaboration opportunities to enhance the pipeline.
• Play a key role in communicating therapeutic area and scientific strategies to key stakeholders.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with:
Need to have:
• A PhD in biological science or MD.
• 15+ years of relevant experience, primarily in the pharmaceutical or related industry.
• Experience with drug discovery and life cycle management processes.
• A track record in drug discovery and development within obesity/cardiometabolic disease.
• Strong international network and access to Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
Nice to have:
• Scientific or people leadership experience at the project and sub-team level.
• Ability to work independently and impact both scientists and top management.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Team-oriented personality with cross-cultural awareness.
• Demonstrated global mindset and knowledge of different cultures.
