The position

The position is responsible to lead the Pharmacology and Histopathology team to efficiently support fit-for-purpose in vivo evaluation of NN compounds or novel target for NN early drug discovery pipeline, and support evaluation of oral bioavailability for NN oral projects with dog pharmacology. The position also takes key responsibility on developing the competency of the team, including both talent development and technology platform advancement. 

•    Serve as a member of Target Discovery Engine China (TDE CN, previously Discovery Biology China) management team and NNRCC leadership forum, influence NNRCC’s direction and lead cross-site or cross-departmental projects and initiatives;
•    Contribute to NN oral ambitions through projects;
•    Generate new ideas through internal & external collaboration;

•    Develop a highly professional, creative, engaging, energetic, respectful, and honorable team;
•    Be responsible for coordinating the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) work in PH.

 

Qualifications

•    Ph.D. in pharmacology or related biological science;
•    8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical industry, familiar with drug discovery process and operations;
•    Extensive experience in cardiometabolic disease areas (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, NASH, heart failure, chronic kidney diseases, etc.); 

•    Experienced with metabolic disease animal models; innovative in new model & technology development; Knowledgeable in PK/PD evaluation, animal welfare and animal ethics Flexibility and change preparedness;

•    Strong English written and oral communication skills;
•    Decision making and performance driver;
•    Strong communication skills up/down in the organization;

•    Leading by example and act as Novo Nordisk Way role model;

•    Coaching/monitoring the team;
