This role is based in Istanbul, Türkiye, and directly reports to Sr. Director, Legal, Ethics, Compliance & Quality BAMEAC and will represent BAMEAC in the SEEMEA Compliance Group.

 

The position
As Head of Ethics & Compliance BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa and CIS), you will act as a motivated and highly engaged member of the BAMEAC Legal, Ethics, Compliance and Quality team, role modelling the Novo Nordisk Way. You will drive the ethics and compliance mind-set, ensure we comply with laws and regulations and never compromise on business ethics and also be responsible for identifying and managing ethics and compliance risks, including investigations. 

 

Your other responsibilities will be to:

  • Develop the functional legal and compliance team in BAMEAC, set direction on compliance matters and be a trusted and solution-oriented sparring partner within the business area. 
  • Play an important role in managing ethics and compliance risks across the business area and drive a strong ethical mind-set among all leaders and employees of BAMEAC. 
  • Work closely and collaboratively with other functions to enable business strategy and opportunities while ensuring compliance and adherence to our ethics principles.
  • Be responsible for driving strategic initiatives on ethics and compliance, for setting the direction for and developing the functional strategic approach and will serve as a centre of excellence. 
  • Be a key driver of the performance and development of the lawyers and compliance colleagues in BAMEAC. 
     

Qualifications
You have a master degree from a distinguished university in a relevant area. You have at least seven years of proven compliance or legal experience, including experience from the pharmaceutical industry. You should have excellent command over both written and spoken English.

  • That you possess strong business partnering and communication skills, a genuine interest and curiosity to understand the business and where ethics and compliance can optimally support the company’s agenda; and
  • The ability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment with the necessity to embrace complexity, high speed and quick decision making.
     

About the Department
BAMEAC (Business Area Middle East, Africa, and CIS) a part of Region SEEMEA (South-East Europe, Middle East & Africa); is a vast region that includes 73 countries with 1000 employees. The business area office is in Istanbul. The Legal, Ethics, Compliance and Quality department in BAMEAC enables BAMEAC to improve patient lives and achieve its business objectives in a sustainable manner in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way.
