We offer a chance to work on exciting and impactful projects across the value chain alongside accomplished professionals for one of the world’s most successful pharmaceutical companies. We champion a sustainable work-life, and we believe that in-house consulting provides a better opportunity to achieve this balance compared to external consulting. We have been there.
Our environment promotes flexibility, autonomy in your work, and regular interactions with senior leadership. We occasionally need to travel for work, but respect your discretion on timing to best suit both project demands and personal commitments. This consideration is especially valued by our parent team members, who can adjust their schedules to accommodate for childcare. While we strive for excellence in our work and directly collaborate with top executives, we never lose sight of a fulfilling work-life balance. After your time in Novo Nordisk Consulting, an exciting career in Novo Nordisk awaits. We are one of the top talent incubators in Novo Nordisk - hear from two of our alumni below.
Denmark is frequently celebrated as one of the happiest countries in the world, and the allure of Danish 'hygge' has garnered international appeal. Our many international team members are supported by our diverse and social team, easing the transition to living in Denmark. Our offices are located close to Copenhagen, creating a great opportunity for you to immerse yourself in Scandinavian culture and lifestyle.
We work in close collaboration with the departments we support, focusing entirely on one project at a time. Our expertise in project management and problem-solving capabilities complement the in-depth knowledge of functional experts from within Novo Nordisk. This synergy ensures that the solutions we develop are not only actionable but also embraced and implemented effectively by the organisation.
Our projects span the entire pharmaceutical value chain globally — from research & development, manufacturing, and marketing & sales, to critical support functions like finance and people & organisation. Although we are primarily based at headquarters in Denmark, certain projects offer opportunities for international travel.
Are you able to adopt an issue-driven approach to problem-solving and to convey your insights clearly and effectively to your stakeholders? Do you have experience from leading management consultancies or strategy divisions of renowned multinational corporations? Then we are looking for you! Our team is composed of alumni from leading consultancies, including McKinsey, Bain and BCG, as well as consultants from selected boutique consultancies.
In addition, we are keen on welcoming new graduates from top universities with a diverse set of academic backgrounds to join our ranks as Associates. Prior work experience is not mandatory for this role. While a background in healthcare or involvement in healthcare-related projects can be beneficial, it is not a strict requirement. One of the rewarding aspects of working with us is the opportunity to deepen your understanding of the pharmaceutical industry through hands-on project experience and structured training programs.

We are not limiting our candidate search to specific backgrounds. If you have a different master’s degree than the examples in the job post (i.e. economics, business administration, engineering, science, medical) you might still have a relevant profile. In general, we are looking for people with excellent results from well recognised master’s degrees.
Our approach to start dates is flexible. While we generally prefer candidates who can begin their roles promptly, we can also accommodate those who may require additional time before starting, for example to finish their studies or relocate to Denmark.
During the week, from Monday to Thursday, you will find us working with our client teams across the greater Copenhagen area, including Bagsværd, Søborg and Måløv. Fridays are reserved for team collaboration and meetings at our headquarters in Bagsværd.
The majority of our projects are situated in the Copenhagen region, primarily in Bagsværd or Søborg. On occasion, some projects may require business travel such as leading workshops with our international affiliates.
As a Project Associate, Senior Project Associate, or Project Manager, you will typically be fully dedicated to one project at a time.
Our projects align with the highest strategic priorities of senior management and span the entire value chain. Past initiatives have included business development, such as acquisitions and integration of biotech companies, crafting sustainability business plans, developing strategies for managing the patent expiration of top-selling products, exploring new therapy areas or customer segments, and boosting production capacity for essential products.
Upon receiving applications, we conduct a screening and invite the most promising candidates for interviews. The first interview round involves an introduction to our department and two case interviews, which are in line with the style of management consulting firms like McKinsey, Bain and BCG. These interviews assess your analytical thinking, structured approach to problem solving, numerical proficiency, and business acumen.
Successful candidates then proceed to a second round of interviews, which may include assessments based on online tests (completed between the first and second rounds), another case interview, and a conversation with the Head of Novo Nordisk Consulting.
Responsibilities vary with your level of experience. Project Associates and Senior Project Associates often lead specific workstreams of a project, which could involve analysis and recommendations, conducting interviews, facilitating workshops, and preparing decision-making presentations for senior leadership.
Project Managers oversee projects, working alongside 1-2 Associates and in partnership with our client organisation. They also benefit from the guidance of a more senior Novo Nordisk Consulting colleague.
Senior Project Managers and People Managers are responsible for larger or multiple projects simultaneously, providing mentorship on other projects and contributing to the Novo Nordisk Consulting Leadership Team.
While project workload can fluctuate, we strive for a sustainable pace that supports a healthy work-life balance — generally less intense than that of external management consulting.
Our onboarding program spans 1-2 weeks, introducing you to the Novo Nordisk value chain, our department's strategy, key tools, and more. We offer tailored internal and external training programs geared to your experience level, covering topics like issue-driven problem-solving, structured communication and project management. We also pair you with a more veteran member of our team to help guide your transition to Novo Nordisk and answer any questions that may come up along the way.
You will have regular feedback during projects with your project manager, as well as ongoing development discussions with your development manager. Biannual reviews help us focus on your strengths and identify areas for growth.
The length of time our colleagues spend at Novo Nordisk Consulting is shaped by their individual career aspirations, which your development manager will work with you to define. Many eventually transition to exciting leadership roles within various functional areas of Novo Nordisk.
Excellent proficiency in English is the only language requirement to apply for and work at Novo Nordisk Consulting. Knowledge of Danish is not necessary.
It's doable! We understand the parent work-life balance, providing support where needed in flexible work schedule design. This involves being able to leave early to pick up kids and working in the evening instead, working from home one day a week when possible, and maintaining an open dialogue with our team to flag issues and seek help when needed, for example when we need to stay home with a child who is ill. We also have a Parent committee that provides a supportive space for our parent team members to spar on unique professional challenges, and sponsors family-friendly social events for the whole department.
