developing, producing, and filling injection pens to help patients
around the world living with serious chronic diseases, such as
diabetes and obesity. Here we also house a large factory dedicated to
the production of life-saving medicine for patients with rare
diseases.

Hillerød is a charming old town with 32,000 inhabitants and a innovative hub of life science companies. It is a part of Greater Copenhagen, and it is easy to live in Copenhagen or Northern Zealand and work at Novo Nordisk in Hillerød.

S-trains run every 10 minutes from Copenhagen Central Station to
Favrholm Station near Novo Nordisk Site Hillerød. The journey takes 35
minutes. From Favrholm Station, you can cycle approximately 10 minutes
to the site. If you choose to take the S-train to Hillerød Station,
the journey takes 38 minutes, and there is an option to take a bus to
the site.
Novo Nordisk offers negotiated rates on an annual public transportation pass (Erhvervskort) to all employees with a contract of more than 12 months.
If you choose to drive, the journey from Copenhagen to Site Hillerød takes approximately 35 minutes, and there are good parking facilities at Site Hillerød.
Many employees have joined the carpooling app "Ta' Med," so you can carpool to work and share transportation costs.
Here is how you can bike from the train stations to Site Hillerød.
Hillerød is a charming old town with 32,000 inhabitants and a rich
cultural life. Most notably, it features the beautiful Frederiksborg
Castle and castle gardens. The city also boasts many concert venues
such as Royal Stage, as well as museums and annual festivals.
North Zealand is also known for its unique nature with beautiful lakes, and stunning beaches along the northern coast. Close to Hillerød you find the gorgeous par force hunting landscape which is inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list. There are a lot of opportunities to engage in outdoor activities in nature, both on land and at sea.
If you work at Novo Nordisk Site Hillerød, you will be within driving distance of the entire beautiful North Zealand, just as the local train from Frederiksværk also stops at Favrholm Station. The other local trains stop at Hillerød Station.

Favrholm, a developing district
Favrholm, the area quite
near to Nordisk Site in Hillerød, is undergoing massive development
these years. Favrholm will become a new district of Hillerød and is
expected to accommodate between 4,000 and 8,000 new residents, as well
as new build homes, businesses, and sports facilities and a new highly
skilled hospital.

From Ireland to Hillerød, Denmark
In early 2024, I moved
with my partner from Ireland to Denmark to experience living in a new
country and undertaking a new position. Now I feel proud and
satisfied, working for a successful company and contributing to
driving positive change in patients' lives. Supported by Novo Nordisk,
the relocation from Ireland was easy and smooth. Coupled with an
effective onboarding programme, this created an enjoyable experience,
making it easier to become familiar with the company and colleagues.

I began my career 23
years ago at Novo Nordisk and have spent a total of 16 years at Site
Hillerød. Throughout this time, I have taken on various roles, from
administrative to project management, fostering personal and
professional growth. During my time at Site Hillerød I have witnessed
how the site has evolved, providing continuous opportunities for
learning and experiencing different aspects of the industry. I believe
