The position
As a Software Engineer, you will serve as a trusted business advisor, leveraging your technical expertise to support and enhance data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with our business partners on various engineering projects to optimise data processes, improve accessibility, and translating business needs into innovative, user-friendly solutions.

You will generate and mature relevant ideas, concepts, and products focused on delivering patient value and supporting Novo Nordisk’s future initiatives. 

Your key activities include:

• Contributing to engineering projects and serving as liaison for Line of Business, driving software development and data solutions 
• Designing, building, and maintaining compliant cloud and on-premises data platforms, ensuring performance and reliability through monitoring and issue resolution
• Developing data models, ETL processes, and integrations that support business intelligence and analytics 
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to analyse data requirements, develop data pipelines, and deploy scalable storage and processing solutions

Your role also involves identifying and promoting best practices in data management, validation, and process optimisation, continuously enhancing methodologies, techniques, and approaches.

Qualifications
To thrive in this role, we imagine you to:

• Hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in data engineering, software engineering, computer science, mathematics, pharmaceuticals, or another relevant field
• Bring proven cloud experience in Azure or AWS infrastructure, ideally within a complex industry or consultancy setting
• Demonstrate a strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity to continuously improve your toolset and workflows
• Possess solid mathematical and statistical skills, coupled with programming capabilities
• Display strong communication and collaboration skills, successfully interacting with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

It would be highly valued if you have experience or knowledge of Bash, SQL, Python, data modelling, data mining & visualisation, or data storytelling and interpretation.

As a person, you are a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical skills and a "can-do" attitude, always showing curiosity for new challenges while maintaining a structured approach to your work. You are eager to build a strong business understanding and are always ready to step up for our line of business. Finally, you are a true team player and take ownership of your responsibilities, committed to continuous learning and growth.

About the department
You will become part of the Data Accessibility & Insights department, which acts as a central unit within CMC. Our team provides support in various areas of CMC by offering accessibility solutions, along with developing small-scale solutions and proof of concepts, while also collaborating with other departments.

Our team has a wide range of responsibilities and offers centralized solutions that extend across CMC and the entire company when necessary.
