The position
As Pilot Scientist you will as a start be involved in starting up our new purification pilot facility, by taking the lead of project-tracks and driving them successfully, enabling us to be operational ready for GMP production. Eventually you will be responsible for driving production campaigns in the facility. That includes planning, dimensioning, and follow up on daily operation during the campaign as well as ensuring completion and final release. We are producing for clinical trials, and therefore GMP and documentation is a large part of our daily life.

 

The team consists of technicians and scientists and are a very social, positive and including team with can-do attitude and lots of humour. In your job you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders including Equipment responsible and operational responsible in the capacity project, process development laboratories, support functions and QA. 

 

You will have great opportunities to be involved in interdisciplinary projects, tasks and problem-solving where you can put your scientific knowledge and process understanding into play. 

 

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, we imagine that you have a master’s degree within chemistry, pharmacy, or a similar field.

 

Preferably, you also have experience or knowledge within one or more of the following:

  • Protein purification in pilot or production scale
  • Separation techniques such as filtration, chromatography, and precipitation
  • Experience from a GMP regulated production is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated project management skills

 

As a person, you work independently, can handle a complex workday, and enjoy a close and friendly collaboration with your team and department. You are responsible, flexible, and have the courage and drive to engage in new assignments and stick to them until the job is finished. It is important that you are a good communicator, since you are in daily contact with other scientists, technicians, production employees, project managers, analytical laboratories, and others. A positive mindset will suit our working environment where a good laugh is appreciated even when things are getting hectic.

 

The Department
As part of the Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture, and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mindset.

 

Purification Pilot Plants consists of 5 teams, and we are approximately 70 employees. Our task is to scale up processes, purify and dry proteins for toxicological and clinical studies of the Novo Nordisk portfolio. The facility is located in Bagsværd.
 

Our mission is to develop robust and reliable API-processes for clinical trials to support our portfolio of drug candidates in Novo Nordisk. We have focus on innovation, quality, and efficiency to improve the life of the patients.
