Do you have the skills and the experience to set a clear direction and inspire an experienced team to produce great results? Are you eager to work with complex problem-solving related to downstream processes in Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) development? If yes, then you may be our new Associate Manager in Downstream Development.

The position

As an Associate manager you will lead a team of approx. 12 experienced technicians and scientists to contribute to the future API processes both in development and manufacturing.

In Downstream Development we are responsible for designing and developing downstream processes throughout the non-clinical and clinical programs, ensuring fit for purpose processes, scalability and technical material for our pipeline API projects.

You will oversee our new non-GMP facility team, which plays an essential role in testing scale up, new equipment and tech projects as well as delivering technical material for development or stakeholders. Our non-GMP facility is brand new, and you will be responsible for ensuring product deliveries, establishing the team in the new facilities, setting the direction and creating the foundation for a high-performance team.

You will be part of a leadership team consisting of one Director and seven more Associate managers. We meet bi-weekly and discuss leadership and specific topics daily.  As Associate manager, you set direction for your team by being approachable and communicating clearly and effectively both with the team and with your internal and external stakeholders. You ensure that your team lives up to current and future organisational goals. You coordinate, monitor and evaluate the progress of projects/campaigns and support the team’s continuous development of innovative methods and ideas.

In this job you will have opportunities to grow personally and professionally by developing your leadership competencies at the same time as you increase your scientific and business insight.

Qualifications

Ideally, you hold an MSc or PhD in chemical engineering, protein chemistry or related discipline and have practical leadership experience, where you have successfully motivated and developed team performance. You have experience within process development, pilot production and outsourcing to CMOs.

You have an innovative and flexible mind-set. You like to involve and motivate your team members and can communicate and collaborate effectively across disciplines.
