The position
As an (Associate) Digital Strategy Director in Global Drug Discovery, your role involves driving the digital agenda for GDD (Global Drug Discovery) and subsequent prioritization to meet the aspirations. You will lead strategic projects, develop long and short-term digital business strategies and plan and oversee their implementation. An important part of your role will be to build and maintain trusting partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in ways that accomplish key business objectives. 

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

  • Building an outcome driven digital strategy within GDD focusing business needs and making sure that it is executed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders
  • Setting direction through rigorous portfolio prioritization, to ensure the desired outcomes
  • Effective stakeholder management and advancing functional deliverables within defined processes, teams, and governance models
  • Continuously challenging process framework to secure the maximal value outcome 
  • Identification of new opportunities for GDD within digital activities (e.g. data science, data management, FAIRification, software tools etc.) and other related activities

 

Qualifications
We have no formal educational requirements for this role and welcome candidates with diverse backgrounds who possess relevant experience, drive, and motivation to apply for this position. However, typical candidates would hold a PhD or Master's degree in life science with several years of experience in Digital Transformation often within the pharmaceutical industry and for some also with practical experience within drug discovery.

When evaluating candidates we will look at:

  • In depth knowledge of the drug discovery, development processes and business aspects
  • Strategic acumen and experience with driven transformation programs
  • Project management experience and ability to run cross-functional teams
  • Extensive stakeholder management skills

On a personal level, you have a lean and innovative mindset and capability to make decisions based on complex information. You possess extensive collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills. Others are drawn to your leadership for your exceptional communication, inspiration, authenticity, and commitment to developing the organization and others.

 

About the department 
The role is anchored in Global Drug Discovery Digital area, reporting to the Vice President of the area.
You will work with a team with different type of capabilities supporting the digital transformation, e.g. digital strategists, data orchestrators, product owners etc. 
The role will primarily be placed in Måløv in the greater Copenhagen area, limited travel is expected to support the global organization covering US, UK, and China. Remote/hybrid working is not possible within the first 18-24 months of employment but can be considered after that period.
