The position
As a Data Engineer, you will be anchoring the following responsibilities:

  • Foster value creation by developing and maintaining data models utilizing finance data.
  • Work on back-end processes with understanding Line of Business needs.
  • Validate data and data models, run operations, support users and communicate with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Design and construct data models utilizing Databricks and MS Fabric and enable Business Intelligence reporting in Power BI through MS Fabric.
  • Optimize modelling in SQL and Python/PySpark (Integration).
  • Validate datasets from source to platform, and design and code model facts and dimensions.

 

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or Data Science.
  • Possess 2–4 years of relevant experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong focus on financial data processing and analysis.
  • Experience in building data models using Databricks.
  • Experience with Azure Analysis Services and/or MS Fabric (Preferred).
  • Experience in integrating complex and cross-corporate processes.
  • Familiarity with financial SAP BW data (Preferred).
  • Strong team player skills and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with business information generation and analysis methods.

Global Finance GBS Bangalore, established in 2007, is responsible for supporting Accounting, Finance & Procurement, and Financial Planning & Analytics (FP&A) for Headquarters, region Europe, North America, International Operations (IO), and GBS Bangalore.
