About the department

You will be part of the Strategic Supply Chain Group within the Supply Chain Department. This department is responsible for all steps involved in getting products from suppliers to customers, including demand inventory planning, movement, storage, and inventory control. Our team is dedicated to achieving targeted quality, wastage, and inventory levels, and we work closely with international operations covering more than 190 countries. The position

As a Demand Planner at Novo Nordisk, you will:

  • You will be the First point of contact on Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) level demand planning forecast generation for key stakeholders in Japan and abroad and collaborate with Business Units and Finance to establish a sales forecast at material level, including statistical baseline, analytics, and market trends.
  • Drive the Regional Monthly Demand Review meeting with relevant stakeholders to ensure the forecast in the Demand Planning Tool (OMP) system is accurate. Some key stakeholders will be Supply Chain leaders, Business Unit leaders, local manufacturing site, as well as overseas stakeholders in various countries.
  • Ensure timely collaboration for new product launches and discontinuations with relevant stakeholders and ensuring a regional overview including risk & opportunity.
  • Participate and improve the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)/Sales and Operations Execution (S&OE) process as a Demand Subject Matter Expert and drive performance management (e.g. Forecast accuracy) as per KPI trends and deep dives and a continuous improvement mindset around processes and systems. Also support the line manager on supply constraints discussions and attend S&OP and S&OE meetings as a regional demand planner.
  • Be a key user of the Demand Planning Tool (OMP solution) and engage in the SKU optimization project.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in Supply Chain Management and/or 3 or more years of experience in Demand Planning
  • Experience working across cultures and hierarchies within a multicultural environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with statistical forecasting methods.
  • Fluent Japanese with strong business English proficiency required.
