The position 

We are expanding downstream development, and our capabilities within filtration and your responsibilities and employment terms will reflect your experience and competencies. 

As our Filtration Scientist in API Downstream Development your main responsibility is to develop scalable and robust filtration processes. You would oversee the planning and evaluation of laboratory experiments in collaboration with skilled technicians. You will drive an overall process perspective, connecting challenges and potential opportunities for the entire process to seek the optimal solution together with your stakeholders and colleagues.  

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Being responsible for developing downstream processes for peptides and proteins. Driving an overall process perspective, connecting challenges and potential opportunities for the entire process to seek the optimal solution together with your stakeholders and colleagues. 
  • Performing, evaluating and reporting experimental work in the laboratory. 
  • Providing data analysis as well as input at technical design reviews. 
  • Collaborating with laboratory technicians, including trouble shooting on technical issues. 
  • Participating in cross-functional project groups and professional collaboration forums. 
  • Being innovative in experimental design and optimization, identifying innovative solutions to technical problems, data handling and secure IPR.

Qualifications 
We’re looking for someone who enjoys collaborating, learning and sharing information with others and is driven by achieving great results together with colleagues. We expect our candidate to take responsibility and pride in delivering fit for purpose processes. Moreover, we expect you to:  

  • Hold a MSc. or PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, protein chemistry or related discipline. 
  • Have experience within downstream process steps such as chromatography, precipitation, UF/DF and supporting analytics. 
  • Have a solid knowledge, and hands-on experience within polymeric and/or ceramic membrane filtration (MF, UF/DF) and some years of experience within the field. 
  • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills that enable you to interact with your many stakeholders from distinct functions and parts of the organisation.

About the department 
The job is placed in the department Downstream Development in CMC API Development, located in Bagsværd. Our main responsibility is to develop manufacturing processes for new proteins and peptides used in clinical trials. We do so in close collaboration with the research and manufacturing units, pilot facilities, and Contract Manufacturing Organisations (CMOs). The department has 100+ employees divided in 8 teams that work together. 

Currently, we are expanding knowledge within peptide and protein filtration in our area and therefore we need you.
