The Position
In this role, you will lead a department of product owners and program managers for our global scientific data registration & visualization systems, including molecular entity registration, raw data management, sample management, and workflow management.
Your main responsibilities can be summarized as follows:
Ensure that digital capabilities and solutions fulfil the long-term data-driven research aspirations of Novo Nordisk, with particular emphasis on data capture and registration.
Provide strong leadership, including growing and developing talents, to drive the success of digital initiatives globally.
Work closely with senior leaders in research, IT, and strategy offices to align digital strategies.
Oversee the development and maintenance of important digital platforms (source systems, core data products, etc) that support scientific research.
Drive the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to improve scientific workflows and data analysis.
The job title will be decided based on the chosen candidates’

Qualifications
To thrive and succeed in the role, you should have:
Ph.D. in Science (e.g. Physics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, or similar) with 5+ years of experience in drug discovery/research, preferably within research informatics/IT or similar function.
Strong leadership background with an evident commitment to creating winning teams with a focus on continuous people development.
Thorough understanding of the drug discovery/research processes in pharma.
Strong vision and track record as to how data and digital technology (incl. AI) can be used to enable and accelerate target discovery, lead identification/optimization, and clinical translation, including the ability to describe/assess the business value of such technology implementations.
Familiarity with agile frameworks and/or DevOps is considered an advantage.

About the Department
The department is a part of the Digital Science & Innovation area. It is comprised of scientific product owners and senior program managers, primarily based in Denmark, with global connections in the Greater Boston Area (US), Oxford (UK), and Beijing (CN). We are key points of contact to research areas, with a strong digital vision and strategy mindset, where we take pride in understanding where existing solutions are insufficient and articulate how new or changed offerings can meet such needs. We lead business analysts in the scoping phase, and then lead cross-organizational teams to build and integrate solutions. As such, we collaborate closely with scientific software and data engineers, architects, application specialists as well as business owners and end users. We mainly work within agile and DevOps frameworks, with significant emphasis on experimentation, to ensure efficient and effective collaboration towards innovative solutions.
