About the job

Reporting to the Corporate Vice President Digital Data & IT Product Supply, the Vice President Digital Data & IT Product Supply Emerging Technologies (DD&IT PS ET) leads a team of 7 Directors across US, Denmark and Ireland, with a total of approximately 100 dedicated and passionate colleagues supporting the department.

 

This exciting opportunity is a newly created role within the organization, with the autonomy to define the portfolio and set its vision. With a high level of accountability, the VP DD&IT PS ET will establish and foster deep relationships with key stakeholders across the business, and work through colleagues across complex matrix organization to deliver best-in-class services to Emerging Technologies.

 

The position is based on Denmark, Greater Copenhagen area. We welcome applications from the candidates based in Denmark and those that are willing to relocate. North Carolina in the USA, and Athlone, Ireland might be considered as alternative locations for candidates already based there.

 

Your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Set the strategic direction for ET IT Operations and communicate a compelling purpose and vision with passion and urgency on all levels of the organization.
  • Drive the IT & Operational Technologies (OT) operations for ET business area and ensure the delivery of best-in-class services aligned with business needs and strategy.
  • Build an effective collaboration with stakeholders to ensure alignment of the priorities and that those are translated into roadmaps.
  • Support the strategic development, operational excellence and continuous improvement of IT/OT processes.
  • Actively contribute to the development of DD&IT PS through accelerated transformation and be accountable for the success of the area.
  • Build, develop and lead a team of highly skilled colleagues, acting as a mentor and coach, and prioritizing long-term competency, diversity, development and cross-organisational collaboration.

 

Qualifications

To thrive and succeed in this role, we expect you have:

  • Master’s degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or a business-related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare-related industry or similar, with a proven track record in business insights and knowledge.
  • Proven leadership experience, including building, delegating and empowering others to take action.
  • Strong understanding of the global IT industry, with a deep expertise in IT best practices.
  • You are a trusted advisor with strong stakeholder management experience and thrive working autonomously and independently.
  • You demonstrate agility and can adapt quickly in complex, matrixed environments.
  • You have excellent communications skills, as well as ambition, resilience, a humble ‘can-do’ attitude, and a spirit of innovation.

 

About the department

Digital Data & IT is a global community comprising approximately 4.000 colleagues, focused on driving digital, data, and IT initiatives to support innovation throughout the entire Novo Nordisk value chain, from idea conception to patient care.

DD&IT PS Emerging Technologies is anchored within the Global organisation. The strategic objective of the unit is to be the IT partner for the business ensuring that we provide the IT solutions and assistance needed to support Novo Nordisk’s operations solutions to enable a flawless execution. 

In addition, as part of the future Digital Operations ambitions, the area is fully partnering with Global Operations, IT and Emerging Technologies stakeholders to ensure future technical enablers, such as bringing architecture to life or striving towards highly automated IT/OT foundation on all factories and shopfloor. This department is key in ensuring the organisation’s readiness to scale and operate these enablers when required.
