The Production Engineer position is anchored in Koriyama Factory (KFA) Production Engineering and Facilities (PE&F) department, reporting to the PE&F manager. Our department is in-charge of leading, managing, and performing the engineering operations of the organization. We strive to ensure the safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of our facilities and assets. The position
As a Production Engineer at Novo Nordisk, you will:

  • Design, select, install, set up, and enhance mechanical/electrical equipment to meet shop floor needs.
  • Maintain, improve, and maximize production equipment or systems through complex data analysis and kaizen activities.
  • Identify potential issues with machines/equipment, perform thorough root cause analysis, and take preventive and prescient actions.
  • Collaborate with external suppliers on technical issues and provide on-site technical support when necessary.
  • Ensure regular maintenance activities are in place according to planned programs and collaborate with the KFA Project Office on larger scale projects accompanying equipment installation.
     

Qualifications

  • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the relevant fields.
  • Knowledge of auto CAD and PLC work, along with a business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and spoken).
  • Advantageous to have prior experience or a keen interest in continuous improvement and process automation in a global environment, as well as familiarity with pharmaceutical processes or any other regulated industry.
  • Expected to possess excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills, flourish in a cross-cultural and cross-functional environment, and demonstrate a proactive, independent , and professional approach to work.
  • Willingness to step out of comfort zone and implement new ideas in innovative ways.
