In DP&SE we design, develop, and operate world class in-house digital products across the Novo Nordisk value chain ultimately contributing to the people we serve living with Diabetes and other serious chronic diseases.  

 

We drive tech leadership through innovative software products and platform solutions - combining deep expertise in software engineering and user needs with an efficient, compliant, and scalable delivery model. We set new standards for designing, developing, and operating digital solutions in Novo Nordisk. 

 

You will head up a dedicated digital product delivery unit in Digital Products with a specific focus on software product development and operations.  

 

We are looking for a thought leader who is eager to drive maturity within product engineering and have passion for leading people within this field – someone who can set the direction, provide guidance, and drive people development. You will become a part of an inspiring, and ambitious work environment, where modern software development methodologies, tools, teamwork, and a growth mindset is key. 

 

Behind the title 

You will be working with sophisticated business challenges in Novo Nordisk’s digital area and will be exposed to stakeholders across the organisation. By utilizing your leadership skills and knowledge about software development and digital product management you will play an instrumental role in strengthening software engineering leadership in DP&SE, helping our Scrum Masters, Tech Leads and Software Engineers challenge status quo and adapt best practices in collaboration with the other DP&SE teams.  

 

Moreover, you will manage tactical and operational needs from the product delivery teams – direct people management, recruitment, team health, rotation, and capacity planning across the DP&SE.​  

 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Daily responsibility for the product delivery teams and being the escalation point 

  • Direct Management of 15-20 Software Scrum Masters, Developers & Tech Leads, ensuring well-being and development of employees 

  • Collaborate closely with the business to create the best possible environment for high performing teams 

  • Support and engage product teams to adapt software engineering ‘defaults’ and DevOps practices, tooling, platforms and improved ways of working 

  • Develop and driving people strategy incl. sourcing of talents – make/buy, partnering and/or growing talents internally, as well as recruitment, retainment, attraction, and rotation 

 

Which competencies to bring 

We expect the ideal candidate to meet the following criteria: 

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related fields  

  • Previous experience software development within the fields of GxP, Health Software and SaMD 

  • At least 5 years of proven track record of leading teams specialised in Software Engineering.  

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills 

 

On a personal level, you are capable of advocating convincingly about the value of software and what it will take to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable software products, particularly to stakeholders and decisions makers who are less experienced in the field.
