About the department
Purification Research 2 is one of two purification
departments in Bioprocess Research and consists of a growing team
of highly engaged scientists and technicians. In Bioprocess
Research, we are engaged in early research projects using
state-of-the-art technology to deliver purified proteins and
peptides from recombinant expressions for the development of lead
molecules and selection for clinical development. In this context,
the Purification Research departments are responsible for the
purification of challenging tool proteins, platform-based
automated purifications as well as highly customized purification
of engineered variant molecules in milligram to gram scale
quantities. In addition, the departments also support cell line
development and are responsible for developing the initial
purification process suited for transfer to our CMC colleagues for
clinical development.
The Bioprocess Research area is part of the Recombinant Drug Research (RDR) area, where we collaborate across the full research value chain to discover and advance innovative recombinant protein and peptide therapeutic candidates. RDR maintains a vibrant scientific culture and seamlessly connects broad competencies across multidisciplinary teams that are motivated by revolutionising development of innovative therapies to treat a wide range of serious chronic diseases.
