The position
We have recently entered an exciting phase of expansion within our Cultivation Pilot Plant (CPP) and we want you to be part of it.  Join our most ambitious venture to date, as we continue to optimise our production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for clinical and development trials. At the Cultivation Pilot Plant, you will work at the interface between new process development and production scale-up, ensuring the continued quality pipeline of new drugs for our patients around the world. We work with both yeast and bacterial cell fermentation in stainless steel production facilities.

 

Your tasks will include:

  • planning and co-ordinating production campaigns within a close working team of pilot scientists and technicians.  
  • working with many elements across the entire process chain, from raw materials planning, plant and utilities management, fermentation operations, reporting and co-ordination both in-house and with external manufacturers (CMO’s). 
  • ensuring timely execution of production of our cultivation processes.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, we expect you:

  • To hold a Master’s degree within biochemical engineering, fermentation-based manufacturing, chemistry (or similar).  
  • To possess some working experience from a production environment, but new or soon-to-be graduates can be considered for this position.  
  • Experience with GMP is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken). Fluency in Danish is an advantage.

About the department
As part of Novo Nordisk PSQIT organisation, Chemistry, Manufacturing and Control (CMC) Development & Scaling makes a real difference for patients with chronic diseases across the world. We develop, manufacture and distribute drug candidates for clinical trials and have a strong culture with a “can do” mind-set. Cultivation Pilot Plants includes pilot scale facilities for cultivation and recovery of proteins at around 1000L scale.  Our pharmaceutical production processes utilise mammalian cells, yeast and E. coli, and our purified proteins are utilised in clinical trials and developmental trials. The department consists of around 80 employees divided into 4 teams: Cultivation, 2 Recovery teams and Support. 

CPP is part of CMC Development where there is close collaboration with the API Development teams as well as across the API Pilot facilities.
