Sequential
combined HRT

Sequential combined HRT is the therapy of choice when a woman still has periods but suffers from irregular cycles and menopausal symptoms. Because oestrogen is given over the complete 28-day cycle and progestogen added only for the second half, it mimics the natural cycle of a woman and leads to regular menstruation-like bleedings without menopausal complaints. Thus, the sequential combined therapy is preferable and appropriate for women who still want to maintain their periods. A sequential combined HRT product is designed for the early initiation for an effective bleed treatment of menopausal symptoms (e.g. hot flushes, irregular cycle) and is one of the options for osteoporosis prevention.
