Coagulation Disorders diagnose
Accurate diagnoses of coagulation disorders can be a challenge. To provide help and guidance to those Health Care Professionals dealing with coagulation disorders, Novo Nordisk has developed the Coags Uncomplicated application.
Coags Uncomplicated provides real-time assistance in diagnosing bleeding disorders with, among other tools, a Lab Value Analyzer and a Diagnostic algorithm.
The Lab Value Analyzer is a tool where you can enter your patient's coagulation profile and receive a list of potential diagnoses to consider. It is based on the typical lab presentation of coagulation disorders when confounding illnesses or drugs are not present. It is not designed to assess lab values in the presence of anticoagulation therapy. Platelet disorders are beyond the scope of the Lab Value Analyzer.
Clinical management is advised for all suggested diagnoses. However, the Lab Value Analyzer is not a substitute for your clinical judgment. All suggested diagnoses should be independently confirmed.
The Diagnostic Algorithm is based on the typical lab presentation of coagulation disorders when confounding illnesses or drugs are not present. It is not designed to obtain a diagnosis in the presence of anticoagulation therapy. Platelet disorders are beyond the scope of the Diagnostic Algorithm. Clinical management is advised for all suggested diagnoses. Be sure to consult with a haematologist to ensure an accurate diagnosis.
The Lab Value Analyzer and the Diagnostic Algorithm have been developed by Novo Nordisk in partnership with Craig M. Kessler, MD, Professor of Medicine and Pathology and Director of the Coagulation Laboratory, Georgetown University Hospital, Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Ellinor I. Peerschke, PhD, FAHA, Professor of Pathology and Director of the Hematology and Coagulation Laboratories of the Mount Sinai Hospital and Medical School.
Coags Uncomplicated is a free app available for download in three different versions.
