Global framework for integrated reporting on its way
Tuesday 2nd August The Prince of Wales' Accounting for Sustainability Project and the Global Reporting Initiative announced the formation of an International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC). Novo Nordisk is represented in the IIRC together with representatives from a wide range of stakeholder organisations, including the International Accounting Standards Board, the International Organisation of Securities Commissions and the International Federation of Accountants.
The objective of the IIRC is to create a globally accepted framework for accounting for sustainability, bringing together financial, environmental, social and governance information in a clear, consistent and comparable format - ie in an integrated report such as Novo Nordisk has practiced since 2004.
The intention is to help develop a more comprehensive information about an organisation's total performance, prospective as well as retrospective, to meet the needs of the emerging, more sustainable global economic model.
