Pharmaceutical Medicine Programme
Vision
Novo Nordisk has started the Pharmaceutical Medicine Programme in 2006. The aim of the programme is to develop highly qualified medical doctors with a broad understanding and hands-on experience within various functions of the company where medical competencies are needed. As a special aim of the programme is to build cross-organizational competencies and understandings, the programme offers a solid foundation for candidates to develop into key medical experts within Novo Nordisk.
Rotations and courses
The two-year programme consists of three eight-month rotations in three different areas of the organisation – Global Development, Medical Affairs and International Product Safety. Within the three departments you will be involved in specific everyday tasks through which you will get experience with elements such as clinical development planning of a drug candidate, global and local positioning strategies for a marketed drug, medical documentation in a new drug application, pharmacovigilance activities and clinical risk management plans. All rotations are based at our corporate headquarters in Denmark.
In addition to the rotations an individual course plan is set up allowing the candidates to participate in internal and external courses. This for example can include training in GCP (good clinical practice), biostatistics and computer skills.
