Base Camp Introduction

The International Finance Graduate Programme in Novo Nordisk provides you with an opportunity to make a difference in a finance organisation covering the emerging and developing world.

The international programme covers an area of 142 countries, which ensures ample on-the-job experiences, a steep learning curve, a multicultural network and international assignments for talents looking to kick-start their global finance career. One of your key responsibilities will be to provide financial as well as business support to the Novo Nordisk organisation, and thereby make a difference for people with diabetes.

What you will be doing

A graduate will face diverse challenges, practical job training and be required to obtain solid business understandings. The actual job areas include:

  • Financial planning, analysis and controlling
  • Process improvement
  • Management reporting and external reporting
  • Project management

Scope of the programme

The two-year programme consists of four six-month rotations, with graduates being hired in Turkey, Greece and China. In 2009, graduates can seek recruitment in India. As a graduate, you will experience two rotations in the local business area (the country of hiring), a rotation at the global headquarters in Denmark, as well as a rotation at the regional headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.

After completing the programme you will have a range of international opportunities within the world’s leading diabetes care company, Novo Nordisk.

Rotation details

In the Global Finance graduate programme there are four rotations of six months. Three rotations are in the Danish headquarters selected between key functions such as Treasury, Corporate Financial Planning, Finance Projects, Corporate Sourcing, Corporate Tax, Business Development and others.

The graduate takes up full positions and learns the finance skills relevant to the rotation. Additionally, the graduate spends 30%-80% of the time on key change projects. The rotations are signified by a steep learning curve and high expectations of the graduates.

Requirements

To join the International Finance Graduate Programme you’ll need to have recently completed your Master’s degree in finance, accounting or business – with an outstanding academic record. We are looking for talents with an international mindset, plenty of drive, good organisational skills, strong English skills, and excellent interpersonal skills. If you’re also outgoing, accommodating and a great team player, you might be just what we’re looking for.

Region International Operations encompasses markets outside North America, Europe and Japan & Oceania. This region covers 142 countries, has a population of 5.3 billion people or some 80% of the world’s population, and includes 80% of all people with diabetes.

The Region represents 50% of the GDP growth in the world today; however the growth is very unevenly distributed among the countries. Countries like Brazil, China, Russia and Turkey are some of the main growth drivers of this development.

Novo Nordisk’s Region International Operations employs more than 3,000 people and will realise a turnover of more than 1.5 billion USD.
