Turn the return mechanism clockwise until the piston rod is completely retracted. Never push the piston rod back.
Put the Penfill® cartridge into PenMate®. The cap goes in first.
Screw the mechanical section and PenMate® tightly together.
Make sure that the dosage indicator window on the mechanical section is level with the yellow push button on PenMate®.
