Evolution of NovoPen®

- A heritage of discovery and invention

Novo Nordisk has always strongly believed that people with diabetes are as important as the products we make. From the time that Novo Nordisk first began producing insulin in 1924, the company has had the foresight to realise that insulin would be more effective if it was delivered in the correct way for people with diabetes. The first ‘Novo insulin’ was therefore administered in the ‘Novo syringe’ as early as the 1920s.

Today, Novo Nordisk has a broad range of injection devices that fulfill the many different needs of people with diabetes – NovoPen® is one of its most widely used pens. Since its first introduction in 1985, NovoPen® has undergone a number of enhancements in line with Novo Nordisk’s commitment to maintain high standards of innovation, quality and reliability.
