Combine technology with business processes
The programme will offer you a unique chance to gain broad knowledge of how technology is used to enable business processes and operations in a large organisation, while working with an international community of professionals to defeat diabetes.
Furthermore, you will gain invaluable skills and experience in several core IT fields, including project management, system management, infrastructure management, governance, strategy and sourcing. You will learn to take ownership of projects while building a strong network with international colleagues. By building upon your talent we aim to create a challenging and engaging workplace with global career opportunities.
The graduate programme is a great springboard for launching a life-changing career, offering you a unique chance to use your recently-acquired master's degree to make a difference to patients and begin your career in a highly motivated environment at Novo Nordisk, the world leader in diabetes care.
Structure of the programme
The Business IT graduate programme is a 2-year journey consisting of four 6-month rotations based in our corporate headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. Three of the programme rotations will take place in Denmark, while one rotation will take place in one of our global affiliates.
After successfully completing the programme you may embark on a career at Novo Nordisk in a permanent position; perhaps as a project manager within business consulting, in a specialist unit or in a role taking steps towards your first leadership position. While you could be based in Denmark your broad network and international experience from the programme will enable global career opportunities.
Scope of the programme
As the corporate headquarters programme is anchored in Denmark three rotations will take place in headquarter functions in Denmark, while one rotation will take place outside Denmark.
Throughout the programme you will be working closely with your programme manager to plan your rotations and enhance your professional and personal development as much as possible.
A senior member of the IT Management team will be assigned as your mentor in order to further strengthen your development.
Learning journey through 4 rotations
The flow and content of your four job rotations are shaped individually to fit both your skills and development opportunities and at the same time to meet our business needs and focus areas. A rotation flow for a graduate based in corporate headquarters could be as follows:
IT Governance and Portfolio Management. The first rotation will introduce you to the overall IT setup in Novo Nordisk. You will boost your competencies by solving assignments that evolve into smaller projects and embrace opportunities for independent responsibility.
IT Sourcing Management. You will be involved with areas such as license management for key IT systems, negotiating IT Service Level Agreements or purchases of new IT investments and optimising the vendor setup.
IT Project Management. Working in one of our global affiliate offices such as Beijing, Zürich, Tokyo or Princeton, you will be responsible for independent deliveries and work streams in the IT projects including change management and training responsibilities.
IT Systems Management. During the last rotation you could enrol in the system management of critical business applications. Challenges may include off-shoring, vendor management or development of system strategies.
